Situated where the Big Sandy Valley region meets the Appalachian Mountains, Lawrence County is one of the largest counties in the Commonwealth at 420 sq miles and a population of nearly 16,000. RT 23, the famous ‘Country Music Highway’, runs through the county connecting to I-64, placing us in the Tri-State area along with OH, and WV. Lawrence County’s unique geographical features, history, culture, abundant recreational assets, scenic beauty, friendly people, and emerging new economy, makes it an interesting place to visit, a peaceful place to live, and a great place to do business.

Lawrence County Judge Executive, John Osborne and Magistrate Rick Blackburn (District 4), assorting backpacks filled with school supplies to be distributed to the Family Resource Centers for approval at Louisa East, West, Fallsburg, and Blaine Elementary Schools. Bus drivers who notice a child who needs a backpack can go the Family Resource Centers and request one.
